Interim Guidance on the Information Sharing Specifications and Data Exchange Formats for the Real-Time System Management Information Program
On October 15, 2007, FHWA published a notice titled "Interim Guidance on the Information Sharing Specifications and Data Exchange Formats for the Real-Time System Management Information Program" in the Federal Register. The purpose of this notice is to: (1) Announce the publication of interim guidance; and (2) solicit public comment on the contents of the interim guidance. Section 1201 of SAFETEA-LU established the Real-Time System Management Information Program to make traffic and travel conditions information available to the traveling public and to ease the sharing of traffic and travel conditions information among public agencies and private enterprise.
We invite the public to submit comments on this
interim guidance. We plan to issue final guidance after we have evaluated
all the comments received on this interim guidance. Comments regarding
specific burdens, impacts, and costs would be most welcome and would aid us
in more fully appreciating the impacts of Data Exchange Formats. Comments
